Eddie Redmayne would love to be Batman’s Riddler

While at Toronto International Film Festival, Eddie Redmayne shared that if he could play any of the rogues on Batman, he’d love to be The Riddler.
When you think of Eddie Redmayne, you’ll usually think of him as Fantastic Beasts‘ Newt Scamander. Our leading man often takes on the roles of the good guys, but who would he be if he could be any of the bad guys from Batman? The actor had a chance to answer himself.
According to Comicbook.com, Redmayne was asked about his dream role at the Toronto International Film Festival. He’d love to be The Riddler, and considering all the riddles he offers as Newt Scamander.

If the Fantastic Beasts actor ever got the chance to show off his evil side, it wouldn’t be the first time attempting to step into the comic book genre. He was one of those who auditioned for Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy, although I couldn’t imagine anyone but Chris Pratt playing that role now. He also wanted to play Harry Osbourne in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
However, one thing we haven’t seen is whether Redmayne can play a villain. What he can do is quirky and energetic, which would suit The Riddler, who is known for blurring the lines between crime and games. He enjoys making his victims think and solve puzzles, a little like Jigsaw in Saw.

The discussion of the rogues on Batman has come up as plans continue for Robert Pattinson’s first movie as the Dark Knight. There’s very little known about who the villain will be, which is why there’s currently been so much in the way of theorizing.
Eddie Redmayne wasn’t at TIFF to just talk Batman villains, though. He was there to promote his upcoming Amazon Studios movie, The Aeronauts with former movie co-star Felicity Jones.
