Pottermore’s Sorting Ceremony and Sorting Hat get a makeover
By Callum Gunn
Pottermore is making an update to its Sorting Ceremony soon. It announced the update with a new look to the Sorting Hat.
Pottermore is a fun site for Potterheads, but it’s not as immersive as some would like. Changes are coming, though, and one of the first is going to be a change to the Sorting Ceremony.
The official Harry Potter fansite shared the news about the Sorting Ceremony updates with a glimpse at another change. The Sorting Hat has received a makeover. Its brown fabric is starting to unravel, showing off the colors of the houses underneath.

So far, Pottermore has remained quiet about its upcoming changes to the Sorting Ceremony. Will this mean you end up in another house? Technically it shouldn’t, as long as you answered the questions honestly the first time, but you never know! Sadly, the quiz didn’t come out in time for Hogwarts to start back on Sept. 1. In fact, the announcement of the changes was made on Sept. 1.

One thing the Harry Potter site did share was that it won’t be just the Sorting Ceremony and Hat getting the makeovers. There’s a Wizarding World app coming, which is going to make the experience far more immersive than ever for all. New polls and announcements will be pushed straight to your mobile devices. This is all thanks to the combination of the Wizarding World and Pottermore.
