Forky Asks a Question

When Toy Story 4 debuted its new character, a sentient spork named Forky, he immediately became both a fan favorite and a bonanza for the toy industry. So it’s not surprising that the studio plans to continue capitalizing on the spork whose favorite word is “trash” with his own Disney+ series.

Forky Asks a Question will be a series of brief shorts wherein the title character asks the tough questions like, “What is time? What is love?” In the first short shown to audiences, he has Toy Story alumni Hamm the piggy bank answer what money is. The series doesn’t just rely on Tony Hale’s perfect vocal work as Forky, but it also imparts information for young audiences to actually learn from. So, it’s both funny to have Forky ask why there’s a woman on a quarter, only to have it segue into Hamm discussing the usage of powdered wigs. It’s edu-tainment, everybody!

It’s unclear exactly how many Forky Asks a Question shorts there are, though we know they’ll be available at launch. As someone who is still mixed on Toy Story 4, I’m excited to see Forky break out and do something completely on his own. The movie practically anchored him as the lead already, so it’s time to prove that correct.
