Misfits

Though American audiences may not be as familiar with this show as some of the other entries on our list, that doesn’t make Misfits any less worthy of inclusion. Centering around five juvenile delinquents who meet after being ordered to perform community service together, the unlikely group develops a close bond after a freak storm gives them all unique superpowers.

In 2019, a show about a group of young adults with superpowers sounds like nothing new, but Misfits was pretty groundbreaking when it was released, and it’s darker tone, cynical humor, and unique setting mean that it’s stood the test of time and is still one of the best superhero shows ever put to television. In terms of similarities to Legends, you’ll like Misfits if you’re a fan of bizarre “villains of the week”, time travel, and a healthy dose of teen romance.

If the plot doesn’t have you hooked already, the cast is pretty great as well – the series stars Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy), Joe Gilgun (Preacher), Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor), and Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones). That’s right – before he was torturing Sansa Stark, Ramsay Bolton was a time-traveling teen delinquent. Small world.

If you’re looking to get your healthy dose of Misfits, you can find it on Hulu, iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, and Youtube.
