At SDCC 2019, Culturess took part in a press round table with Eric Wallace, an Executive Producer for the Flash, who gave some amazing insight into Season 6.

Since The Flash‘s very first episode, we have known that the series would take on one of the most epic comic book storylines, “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” And while San Diego Comic Con was not just a way to learn more about this upcoming Arrowverse crossover event, thanks to Executive Producer Eric Wallace, we have certainly learned a bit more about what we can expect for the series itself in its upcoming sixth season.

As an added bonus, Wallace also touched on one of our favorite character’s from The Flash, Killer Frost. However, the press round table really was all about getting the chance to do a deeper dive into the upcoming crossover and what it means for The Flash in general.

In terms of “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” The Flash’s sixth season will actually be divided into three parts, according to Eric Wallace. As he explained it, there is the “pre-crisis and all of the dread and the leading up to it.” Then there is the actual crisis itself, which is a major event for all of the Arrowverse shows. And finally there is the aftermath, and this is where things open up for the show, as now the thing they have been driving towards since day one has finally happened.

According to Wallace, once you get past Crisis, “there are no limits. So now the story can go into crazier, weirder, and more exciting, dramatic places.”

Wallace pointed out that, in the actual comics, the Crisis storyline served as a reboot, and while they are going to do a “minor” reboot of the Arrowverse as a whole, it won’t be about getting rid of the characters we know and love. Instead, he feels like this is a chance to “change the rules of what Flash episode can look like.”

But, while “Crisis on Infinite Earths” is a major aspect of The Flash season 6, it is not the only thing we have to look forward to. There is also the fact that Wallace revealed that this season is “almost the season of Killer Frost in many ways.” Although we will still see Caitlin, this might just be the year of Frost and we can’t resist that.

Considering season 5 seemed to finally figure out how to utilize Killer Frost in the story, knowing that she will be more central to the upcoming season means she might finally be considered a true member of team Flash. While Caitlin and Killer Frost are one person, they are still distinct personalities that exist in one body. And it makes sense that we are getting a chance to see the other half of this individual take the spotlight.

Based on everything we learned at San Diego Comic Con from Eric Wallace, it seems like we have a lot to look forward to in Season 6 of The Flash, especially when it comes to one of the most famous storylines from the original comic books. While we love hearing from the actors themselves about their characters, getting to hear from an Executive Producer always makes us think we are getting inside information. And in this case, it is all about Crisis and we are okay with that.
