Vancouver-based convention company Unity Events Canada surprised The 100 fans by announcing that Unity Days will be returning for a fourth year in January.

“More, more, UD4,” fans and cast members alike chanted as the third, and, what was thought to be the final, Unity Days event came to a close this past January in Vancouver, British Columbia. Unity Days, the first project for the team at Unity Events Canada, is an independent convention that has been bringing together fans of the hit CW sci-fi series The 100 each January since 2017.

It seemed unlikely that the beloved convention would be returning for a fourth year, with the team insistent that Unity Days 3 would be their final event for The 100 . They even announced their plans to expand the Unity Events brand by hosting their first Riverdale convention, SweetRiver Con. But The 100 fans are a persistent bunch, and Unity Days 4 is officially a go!

Already the Unity Events team has stacked an impressive lineup of cast members for UD4 which is set to take place from January 24 to 26 at the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront. Joining fans in Vancouver is Bob Morley (Bellamy Blake), Tasya Teles (Echo), Sachin Sahel (Eric Jackson), Jessica Harmon (Niylah), Luisa D’Olivera (Emori), and Unity Days newbie, Sara Thompson (Josephine Lightbourne) — with even more to be announced.

In addition to panels where attendees will get the chance to hear the cast dish on all things The 100, fans will also be able to purchase photo sessions, autographs, and even exclusive breakfast meet and greets with their favorite cast members.

Unity Events promises an inclusive and intimate convention celebrating the show, its cast, and its fans. I chatted with Unity Events co-founder Leana Santos about what inspired the Unity Days comeback and what fans can expect from UD4.

The team seemed quite adamant last year that UD3 would be the final Unity Days event. What made you all decide to bring it back for another round?

Santos: Plain and simple: We’re back by incredibly high demand, which we didn’t expect, by the way. And we miss the Kru — the attendees and cast alike.

Unity Days has quite a loyal following of attendees, and many have returned year after year. What do you think sets Unity Days apart from other conventions and keeps drawing fans back?

Santos: Miah and I have poured our hearts and souls into our conventions, and we truly care about the attendees, our staff, volunteers, cast, and their teams. I think it shows through our work and values.

What can fans expect to see and do at UD4? Will there be any major changes compared to previous years?

Santos: We’re working on something special with one of the guests. Can’t speak to it yet, though!

In addition to UD4, you’re also hosting your first ever Riverdale convention in November. Do you expect many challenges hosting two events so close together? Have you had to adjust the way you plan for Unity Days at all?

Santos: We’re used to being under the gun with events and our jobs, haha. We work hard and we play hard, so there will be much needed R&R between the events. We didn’t adjust anything with Unity Days. The cast and their teams are so great to work with, so planning another convention was just natural.

Do you have any advice for anyone who may be nervous about attending Unity Days for the first time in January?

Santos: Conventions can be nerve-wracking, but Unity Days is so special…All the attendees are so kind and willing to help each other out. I’d say don’t be nervous. Just take it all in and have the best time. All of our staff and volunteers are there to help, and the cast is so down to earth. They’ll make you feel at home. Our DMs and emails are also always open. Anyone can reach us at any time.
