It Chapter Two’s new trailer teases a more terrifying story than last time

With San Diego Comic-Con in full swing, plenty of trailers are headed our way over the next few days. And one of the first new trailers to arrive was for none other than the terrifying It Chapter Two.

There is a new trailer for the upcoming horror movie, It Chapter Two, and while we already knew the second installment of the Stephen King story was going to be terrifying, this new trailer really drives that idea home.

While the first trailer for It Chapter Two made it clear that the Losers’ Club was returning home to Derry, at least one member of the group never left. And he seems to be one of the few people who really remembers what happened when he and his friends first encountered the evil clown known as Pennywise.

However, it does not take long for the horror of their childhood to reemerge in the present day. And while it was scary watching the demonic clown chase the children around Derry the first time around, this time it feels even more terrifying. After all, this time they not only know what they are up against, but they now feel a sense of obligation to put an end to this evil once and for all.

Watching this new trailer gives us a better sense of what we can expect from It Chapter Two, and it feels like so much more than a horror story; this is also a tale of coming home. It’s hard to forget that the first time around, we watched as Pennywise nearly destroyed this group of friends, after already having killed Georgie, Bill’s six-year-old brother. But, according to Entertainment Weekly, what we saw last time is almost nothing compared to what we can expect going forward.

As Bill Skarsgård, who plays Pennywise, points out, this time around, “He’s scarier and he’s angrier.” Considering the evil clown probably does not like losing — especially to children — it makes sense that he is angrier than he was years ago. And with this anger comes even more terror.

It Chapter Two is set to hit theaters on September 6, which means we have plenty of time to relive the horror of It before its debut.
