The Lion King red carpet: 10 of the most show-stopping looks
The stars hit the red carpet, and we have 10 of the most show-stopping looks from the world premiere of Jon Favreau’s The Lion King.
From Pride Rock to the red carpet, celebrities like Beyoncé, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and many more lit up the red carpet Tuesday night for the world premiere of Disney’s The Lion King.
All of the looks were stunning, and many seemed to play on the tones and textures that you’d see in The Lion King itself. (We’re talking wonderfully warm, bright colors.) Maybe the inspiration was taken from The Lion King’s makeup collection, but there’s no denying everyone came out in style.
Though there were dozens of looks to choose from, below are 10 of the most iconic, must-see looks from the cast and other celebrities.
Beyoncé and Blue Ivy
There would be no list if we didn’t bow down to Queen Bey herself, who lends her legendary voice to adult Nala in the movie. Alongside her 7-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, the pair sparkled in custom Alexander McQueen suit jackets and skirts, each beautifully embellished and designed exclusively by Sarah Burton. Beyoncé is known for her lack of red carpet appearances, so it’s no surprise that she pulled out all the stops for this one.
Donald Glover
Providing the voice for the movie’s protagonist, Simba, Donald Glover stepped out in a double-breasted, white and cream checkered suit. Glover, who is most well known as his musical alter-ego Childish Gambino, is no stranger to trendsetting, and the stylish figure he’s cutting here proves no exception.
