Rumors started circulating that a Harry Potter TV Show was in production. While these rumors were debunked, here is why it would make sense to create one.
So, if you missed out the news. A Harry Potter TV Show was reported to be in the early stages of production. Fans, of course, went completely bananas at the idea of a Wizarding World TV show and we here at Wizards and Whatnot did as well.
It was reported to be set in and around Hogwarts, along with parts of Europe as well, would be a prequel to the Harry Potter series and would feature brand new characters that we have never bet before.

Unfortunately, within less than 24 hours of the report. The Harry Potter TV Show was debunked. Officials from both Warner Bros. and representatives of J.K. Rowling both came forward to explain this is certainly not the case.
Naturally, we were all disappointed, leaving many of us wondering why on earth someone lied about this in the very first place.
Thing is. While both Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling came forward to deny the rumor, it doesn’t mean that a Harry Potter TV Show will never happen. In fact, it would make complete sense for Warner Bros. to create one at some point in the near future.
Here’s why.
It’s all due to the current race to be the number one streaming provider. In the days of old, when network TV dominated the world, companies like Netflix where a figment of our imagination and certainly nobody thought they would become as big as they have become today.

And it is because of that popularity that many other streaming services have popped up and also why network TV and production companies are launching their very own services. For example, CBS has the CBS All-Access platform, Disney is about to launch Disney+ streaming service and Warner Bros. is about to launch Warner Media.
With each streaming platform comes original content and this is where it would make sense for a Harry Potter TV Show to be created. Warner Bros. is going to need some original content for their streaming platform and what better franchise to do this with than the Wizarding World?
Answer; there is none really. And this is why it would make sense for a Harry Potter TV Show to happen.
