Confoundables, are the magical objects, barriers, things, whatever you want to call them, that are preventing you from capturing the Foundables located within the game. Pretty much, once you have located a Foundable you need to go out and find the Confoundable associated with it that is preventing it from being freed.

Side note, trying to say Foundbale and then Confoundable repeatedly is a proper tongue twister. I challenge you to say it ten times over.
