Avengers: Endgame’s new version has seven more minutes

Should you return to see Avengers: Endgame in theaters when it returns next week, it sounds like you’ll be there for more than just one new scene.

Avengers: Endgame is already one of the longest movies to become a blockbuster in recent memory, clocking in at just over three hours as it already does. However, the not-quite-special edition — the re-release, if you will — is going to go even longer, as you might expect. According to CBR, which is citing Cinemark, the additions total seven minutes. (Cinemark, for what it’s worth, is just calling it Avengers: Endgame  – With Bonus Content.)

In other words, it’s not just that we’re likely getting a post-credits scene (or two), but also extensions to other scenes. Seven minutes doesn’t sound like much, granted, but 30 seconds here and there could change the tone of certain scenes entirely.

Potentially, we could see more of the emotional, important conversations. What about more between Thor and Frigga? Or additional scenes between Tony and Morgan Stark? Or heck, even just a few more seconds between Peter Parker and Tony? What about more Captain Marvel, considering how little of a role she played despite being hyped up? In other words, there’s a lot of potential to remedy some issues

Additionally, CBR reports that a “tribute to the late Stan Lee” will also appear in the film. As he already has his cameo, it’s possible that we might see something like either Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘s tribute or Captain Marvel‘s added in. Based on the wording, it also doesn’t sound like it’s going to be an extension of Lee’s cameo, either. Is there an additional cameo planned — or will there be a scene in the credits dedicated to him instead?

Fortunately, we don’t have long to wait, as the movie is returning on June 21. It’s not known how long it’s going to stay in theaters, so you might want to go sooner rather than later if you need to know what this new footage entails. Alternatively, we expect that this will also make it to Disney+ — and of course, Culturess will fill you in as well.
