The Link’s Awakening trailer for the Nintendo Switch is all kinds of adorable

Nintendo finally gave us our first long look at the Nintendo Switch version of Link’s Awakening. Prepare yourself for all sorts of adorableness

Your wait to play The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening on the Nintendo Switch just got a lot shorter.

During their presentation, Nintendo announced plenty of things to get us all excited about, including the sequel to Breath of the Wild being in development and Banjo-Kazooie being added into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

E3 has certainly been a treasure trove of excitement.

But what we may not have prepared ourselves for is the sheer adorable nature of the revamped Link’s Awakening in the full-blown trailer. Check it out:

Koholint Island has never looked so freaking adorable.

Firstly, it’s awesome that it keeps the top-down perspective that’s associated with this game (and franchise). Second, the graphics have been supremely updated from the original Gameboy and Gameboy Color versions.

Thirdly, everything is just too cute for its own good. You really expect me to kill that cute octorok, moblin, pig warrior, or pokey? I may not bawl my eyes out like I did when I had to sacrifice my Pikmin back in the day, but I’m definitely going to hesitate a second. Even that hinox in the dungeon looks adorable!

And if you’re partial to the fishing in any Zelda game, you’re in luck. Because it sure looks like we’re going to get a fun mini-game where you can get a fairy bottle. (And maybe a piece of heart as well?)

These are all just small glimpses of a larger game, but even still, it looks like the map is laid out almost the same. That stupid forest with the stupid raccoon that makes you get lost? Yep, he’s here still to make you angry at how cute and infuriating he is.

Link’s Awakening looks all sorts of wonderful, especially with that add-on of being able to build your own dungeon with pieces you gain throughout your adventure.

Link’s Awakening releases on the Nintendo Switch on September 20 of this year. It’s going to be a fun, adorable ride.
