As a Harry Potter fan, you’ll be looking for books that will give you the same thrill with some similar elements. But you don’t want the same. The Magicians: Alice’s Story needs to be on the list.
While J.K. Rowling is certainly still working on books and screenplays, the Harry Potter books are done. But you want something that will make you feel like you did when you were a kid (or adult) reading about the Boy Wizard for the first time. The good news is that there are some exciting books coming soon and The Magicians: Alice’s Story by Lev Grossman, Lilah Sturges, and Pius Bak.
For those who think the title and one of the authors sound familiar, there’s a good reason. Grossman wrote The Magicians trilogy, which came to an end in 2014 and, has since, been turned into a popular TV series on SYFY.

The Magicians: Alice’s Story is slightly different from the tales you would have read before. This is a graphic novel adaptation and this time with Lilah Sturges in control of the writing. Pius Bak has done all the illustrating and it looks absolutely beautiful. Grossman isn’t directly involved but Alice is one of his characters.
It’s the perfect novel for Harry Potter fans because it explores Grossman’s world of magic even more. This time, the story is told from Alice’s point of view. Think of it as a doorway into the same story from a different viewpoint. Could it inspire someone to take the Harry Potter stories from Hermione’s point of view?

The graphic novel will allow fans to learn more about the magic of the world. There are creatures, mystical beings, spells, and much more to learn about. These are all elements that were glossed over at times in the original trilogy since they were told from Quentin’s viewpoint and he was learning about magic. Alice already knows and has more to share.
