How Meghan Markle, Taylor Swift and more celebs are celebrating Pride Month
As Pride Month begins, our favorite celebs are showing their support for the LGBTQ community by raising awareness and joining in on Pride events.
It’s been 50 years since the Stonewall Riots of 1969 in New York City, which soon inspired the month of June to be Pride Month. With such a momentous anniversary taking place this year, it’s no surprise several notable celebrities are taking a stand for the LGBTQ community.
Taylor Swift kicked off Pride Month by writing a letter to Tennessee’s Republican senator Lamar Alexander, asking for his support in passing the pro-LGBTQ Equality Act. She wrote in her letter, “Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally.”
At the start of Pride, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared a message that during June, their @sussexroyal account on Instagram will follow pro-LGBTQ organizations.
Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler Ferguson had a message for that one guy hanging out at the White House…
Dua Lipa gave a loving shout out to the LGBTQ community on Twitter, saying “wave that flag every damn day of the year.”
Yes, Dua, YES.
Indya Moore had a big message for brands who are going all in on Pride merch and marketing this month.
Katy Perry posted a colorful, loving photo on her Instagram, telling her fandom “Let us never stop lifting each other up. I see you, and I love you.”
Of course, what would Pride Month be without a message from our amazing Queer Eye boys?
Below are a few more posts from celebs who are showing the LGBTQ community all the love this June.
