Meghan Markle’s Mother’s Day post includes a touching message

The Duchess of Sussex celebrated her first Mother’s Day with a sweet Instagram. Her post also included the cutest photo of royal baby Archie.

Did you see Meghan Markle’s Mother’s Day post? On Sunday, the official Instagram account for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared a touching message that not only honored “all mothers,” but adorably showed off their son, royal baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in a whole new light.

As you can see below, the Duchess of Sussex embraced her very first Mother’s Day by sharing an adorable image of Archie’s tiny baby feet. A beautiful caption accompanied the Instagram that read, “Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honor and celebrate each and every one of you.”

The post also included a quote from “lands” by writer Nayyirah Waheed. It reads:

"mymotherwasmy first country;the first place i ever lived."

To see Archie’s feet in Markle’s hands shines a sweet light on their already loving mother-son relationship. Like the former Suits star told reporters (via Entertainment Tonight) while introducing Archie for the first time to the world alongside Harry on May 8, “It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m really happy.”

The fact that the royal baby’s face wasn’t shown seems to send the message that the new parents want to keep Archie out of the spotlight as much as possible for right now. After all, the royal couple chose to show off Archie a few days after he was born on May 6, rather than doing the traditional royal baby photocall immediately following the birth like Kate Middleton and Prince William did with all three of their children.

When it comes to family, the first-time parents take privacy seriously and will release photos of Archie on their own terms. All that said, a cute picture of Archie’s feet is better than nothing, right? Who’s going to argue with that? We certainly aren’t, especially since Markle’s Instagram celebrating mothers is truly a special one.

Markle probably had a great first Mother’s Day, and it was nice that she shared a post featuring Archie for followers to enjoy. Who else can’t wait to see if or what the couple shares for Harry’s first Father’s Day on June 16?
