Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD returns to action for its sixth season. The team must find focus after losing Coulson. Can they put themselves back together?
Welcome back, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD! It’s been so long! It’s like none of you were even included in Avengers: Endgame!
So how do our compatriots fair as we head into the sixth season?
Frozen! Fitz’s ship gets decimated by another mysterious ship and then we jump a year into the future. Davis, Piper, Simmons, and Daisy are out traversing the galaxy trying to find where Fitz landed.
The only thing left in Fitz’s pod are a few bloody fingerprints. And that’s how Agents of SHIELD will keep messing with FitzSimmons. There’s a long shot option that takes them into deep-deep space, but no one but Simmons
Too bad the Confederacy finds them. …And that Simmons had programmed the coordinates for the deep-deep space option of finding Fitz. Will there be a mutiny?

In a park in Indiana, things are starting to quake. Basketballs shatter like porcelain. Bats fly out of nowhere. And a very burly man busts out of cinderblock walls through some kind of portal. It sounds like reality warps have been happening around the globe (which doesn’t seem that decimated after Endgame, but that’s another story altogether).
All of them have shown up on leylines (of the void?). There must be a connection.
Enter Doctor Marcus Benson. SHIELD’s second chance. He’s the new brains with FitzSimmons out in space. They get a break for the next anomaly and rush to it.
And that’s when Sarge shows up to throw all of our SHIELD agents for a loop.

Fitz is alive and… well, he’s alive. Not quite sure what he’s doing, but it’s definitely on an alien planet.
Badass Moment of the Week
Daisy quaking those guns apart was awesome. Can we please get more awesome scenes like that?

“You learned to read alien?” Piper asks Simmons.
”Of course, what have you been doing the last year?” Simmons responds.
I liked the nice touch of the Coulson hologram. It’s also nice to see May show even a moment of vulnerability. I already anticipate many heart wrenching scenes between her and Clark Gregg’s new character this season.
Kudos to the Chuck reference, too. And the Parks and Recreation building.
Next week’s Agents of SHIELD looks to fill in some of the mystery around Sarge, aka not-Coulson. And might these new arrivals to Earth be offshoots of the children of Thanos? Probably not, but we can theorize!
