Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrates its 30th anniversary with new merchandise

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is celebrating its 30th anniversary with new commemorative products like T-shirts, hats, and pins.

Turning 30 is kind of a big deal, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is celebrating its 30th anniversary in typical its Disney style. The park has come up with special treats, entertainment, and merchandise to commemorate the major milestone, most of which are focused on characters from Pixar films, the Star Wars franchise, and everyone’s favorite talking mice, Mickey and Minnie.

Marcella Sanchez, a member of Walt Disney World’s product development team, told Culturess that Hollywood Studios’ anniversary merchandise is all about reflecting on the successes of the park’s last 30 years and celebrating its exciting future.

“We tried to put in elements of what was then and what is now,” said Sanchez. “You’ll see things like Slinky Dog Dash, Pixar films and Star Wars, but then also things that have been a staple here at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, like the Muppets.”

Here’s a roundup of Hollywood Studios’ 30th-anniversary products, from awesome T-shirts to holiday ornaments.

Pins

Collecting and trading pins is a popular hobby among Disney Parks enthusiasts, and Hollywood Studios has released a few playful limited release sets for their 30th anniversary. Two single pins, (each with a different design) show Mickey Mouse and the Hollywood Studios’ 30th-anniversary logo, and a six-pin set features iconic characters Mickey Mouse, Edna Mode, Kermit the Frog, BB-8, Woody and Olaf: all of whom currently make appearances around the park in attractions and entertainment.

Passholder exclusives

As with most of Walt Disney World’s special events, Hollywood Studios has 30th-anniversary items that can only be purchased by annual pass holders. For this celebration, those items are a limited edition Mickey Mouse pin, a special T-shirt, and a holiday ornament that features several characters from all over the park.

Tervis cup

Park guests can keep their drinks cool in a special edition Tervis cup that is adorned with lovable characters and the Hollywood Studios 30th-anniversary logo.

Hat

A light gray baseball cap with the Hollywood Studios 30th-anniversary logo will also be available for purchase. The hat has a soft, distressed appearance and would make a great way to keep the sun off your head while exploring Disney parks.

Adult apparel

Two T-shirts were created especially for the Hollywood Studios 30th-anniversary event. The pass-holder exclusive is a gray T-shirt with Mickey Mouse standing in a reel of sparkly silver film. The other, a light blue shade, has an adorable decal of Mickey, Olaf, Edna Mode, BB-8, Kermit the Frog, Woody, and Slinky Dog.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ 30th-anniversary merchandise can be purchased starting May 1 throughout the parks while supplies last.
