Game of Thrones season 8 premiere: Quotes we will remember
By Mia Johnson
Game of Thrones season 8 premiere was filled with serious moments, shady moments, and even a few laughs. These are the best quotes from the episode.
Warning! This story contains spoilers for Game of Thrones’s first episode of season 8.
After putting winter on pause for over a year, Game of Thrones finally returned for its eighth and final season Sunday night.
It was an emotional episode right from the start, with Jon Snow finally reuniting with Arya in Winterfell, and the Stark children being all together for the first time since their father’s death in the first season. (Well, not Jon’s father, but that’s besides the point.)
The season 8 premiere, for the most part, really did seem to center on Jon, who finally discovered who his real parents are — thanks to some teamwork between Bran and Sam. But before that, Jon at least got to have a fun moment with his love-interest/aunt Daenerys, who loves him enough to let him take flight on her dragon.
But aside from Jon, we got to see some interesting interactions between other characters — like Sansa and Daenerys, who (unfortunately) really did not hit it off very well. And then, we finally saw that Yara was indeed alive, and Theon was there to save her after she was captured by their uncle, Euron, in season 7.
So, what were the best quotes from the episode? Here were the moments that made us laugh, say “Oh snap,” and even shed a tear.
