World famous singer-songwriter, Bruce Springsteen, wrote a song for Harry Potter but it was ever used. 18 years later, the unused song finally has a home.

You might not have known about this particular piece of Wizarding World trivia, I certainly didn’t until fairly recently, but the world-famous singer-songwriter, Bruce Springsteen, created a song for Harry Potter.

The song was called “I’ll Stand by You Always” and was passed on to director of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Chris Columbus, during the post-production phase of the Wizarding World movie.

According to The Wrap, the ballad was passed on due to a stipulation J.K. Rowling had in the contract that no commercial songs could be used in the films. Due to this, the song was quickly passed on.

The song is finally shaking off the dust and making its way to a movie, but it will not be a Wizarding World movie. It is to be included in the upcoming Gurinder Chadha movie, Blinded by the Light.
