Chadwick Boseman attended CinemaCon for his film 21 Bridges. But when asked about Black Panther 2, he had the perfect response.
It’s been about a year since Avengers: Infinity War came out. With all the snapped away celebrities dodging questions about what happens next, you think we’d give up asking them about what happens in the future. But honestly, it’s still worth a try, if only to get a little quip from the actors who know they can’t reveal much.
At the 21 Bridges event at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, it seems some of the press was eager to test those waters with star Chadwick Boseman. With Black Panther being such a success, it’s only natural they’d want to know more about Black Panther 2. But there’s something in particular holding us back from getting to the sequel just yet, and that’s Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
Boseman’s response to these inquiries was picked up by Fandango’s managing editor, Erik Davis, who shared the hilarious quip on Twitter.
“Everyone on this press line is asking Chadwick Boseman about #BlackPanther2,” Davis wrote. “And he’s like, ‘I’m dead! I disintegrated! I was snapped! Why are you even asking me about this??’”

The playful smirk on Boseman’s face says it all: The snapped away Avengers are dust and that’s final! (At least, until they get rescued in Endgame, that is.)
This response, though, isn’t unique to Boseman. Other Marvel actors who’ve been snapped away have also been giving the same responses since last year. When asked about Doctor Strange appearing in other movies, for example, Benedict Cumberbatch could only respond with a “Who knows?” We all know they’re coming back. But it’s a Marvel Studios safety protocol, it would seem, to make sure the stars reveal as little as possible about the future of the MCU right now.
Although, to ease your worries about Black Panther 2 and seeing King T’Challa return, the movie is confirmed by Kevin Feige. T’Challa and Shuri can’t be dust in their own movie, so we’ll just have to have faith that the Avengers will get things right in Endgame.
Chadwick Boseman will likely appear in Avengers: Endgame as Black Panther (if all goes well) on April 26. Boseman’s other film, 21 Bridges, is set to come out July 12.
