Ezra Miller is teaming up with comic author Grant Morrison to pen the script for a standalone movie of DC superhero, The Flash.

Wizarding World fans know Ezra Miller as the Credence Barebones, now Aurelius Dumbledore, from the Fantastic Beasts franchise. But outside of the Wizarding World, he is known as the DC speedster superhero, The Flash.

Ezra Miller appeared as The Flash for the very first time in 2017, in the DC Universe Justice League movie. Where he starred alongside Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

Miller has been keen to appear in a standalone movie of The Flash ever since, and there has been plenty of talk about doing such a thing, but production has never gotten underway.

In an unexpected twist, Miller has now taken the initiative to pen the script, and he is doing so with Grant Morrison. This decision was taken because of a creative clash.

The creative clash being whether The Flash standalone movie should be of a lighter or darker tone. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who have been on the project since 2018 want to go down a lighter tone route, whereas Ezra Miller wants a darker tone.

Compromises where attempted but it seems as though this has failed as Miller is now attempting to create the script, along with Grant Morrison, himself. Scripts are expected to be submitted soon.

Which script Warner Bros. decides to choose will be interesting. Of course, if they decide not to go ahead with Miller and Morrison’s script then it could result in the actor stepping away from the project. Resulting in a recast of the superhero speedster.
