Five Feet Apart
Five Feet Apart, written by Rachael Lippincott, is now a film, and we couldn’t be more excited! The book has a very The Fault in Our Stars vibe, and so we are expecting a cinematic tear-jerking coming-of-age film. To see if it delivers, check this out in theaters on March 15.
The romantic teenage tale follows Will and Stella, played by Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson. Both characters are living with cystic fibrosis, and the film centers around their journey of love. It also shows how their complicated disease affects and teaches them about the world, human connections, and the meaning of life.
These characters are living in a tricky situation where they are not allowed to touch each other because there is a chance of contamination and in turn, death. The character of Stella desperately needs a lung transplant, but if she interacts with Will, she may lose her spot on the transplant list. The characters are torn between love and life, and many questions of quality versus quantity are brought forward. By the end, these characters discover what’s really important while you’re still living.
