Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, has teamed up with Greenpeace UK in Plastic Waste Study.
A large number of Harry Potter cast members have got involved with good causes since their time in the Wizarding World franchise. Evanna Lynch is heavily involved in the protection of animals, Jamie and Oliver Phelps are involved in a number of charities, the list goes on and on.
Bonnie Wright, who is well known for her time in Harry Potter as the legendary Ginny Weasley, is actively involved with Greenpeace UK, and right now, she is involved in a Plastic Waste Study.
They’re currently working on the study in the River Wye, where they have been taking water samples and measuring the amount of micro plastic in the sample. These sorts of studies have been conducted before but are mostly done in either oceans or seas rather than rivers.

So, one of the purposes of the study is to show how badly affected the rivers. The study is using specialized equipment in order to measure the number of microplastics in the water.
Bonnie Wright shared her thoughts on the matter:
I think it is incredibly worrying.
Every time I have done the trawling for plastics, like we have done today, there’s not been one time the net hasn’t come up with some type of micro plastics.
She also sent out a call to action via her official Instagram page urging as many people to sign the petition to urge the UK government to take steps and protect the public from the effects polluting our rivers with plastic will do.
