Darren Criss creator and original Harry Potter of A Very Potter Musical wins Golden Globe

Darren Criss, known amongst Harry Potter fans for A Very Potter Musical, wins Golden Globe for his performance in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

In case you missed it, the Golden Globes took place last night and amongst the list of winners was Darren Criss. The actor, who was the creator and original Harry Potter in A Very Potter Musical won his award for his performance in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

Criss won the Golden Globe for best actor in a limited series or TV movie for his role in the FX series. He played Andrew Cunanan, the serial killer behind the murder of the famous fashion designer Gianni Versace and five other men in 1997.

Upon winning the Golden Globe, Criss took to the stage and thanked all those who were crucial to him winning the Golden Globe. Including his mom.

"“This has been a marvelous year for representation in Hollywood, and I am so enormously proud to be a teeny tiny part of that as the son of a firecracker Filipino woman from Cebu that dreamed of coming into this country and getting to be invited to cool parties like this. Mom, I know you’re watching this,”"

Criss has been involved in so many well-known projects over the years. Along with The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, he is well known for his time in Glee, where he played Blaine Anderson.

He has also appeared in The CW’s series The Flash and Supergirl as Music Meister. Criss has also been involved in Transformers: Robots in Disguise, where he provides the voice for the character Sideswipe.

But for Potterheads, it’s his involvement in A Very Potter Musical that he is most known for. Criss played the role ofHarry Potter; he also had a hand in creating the musical alongside A. J. Holmes.
