Downton Abbey cast wish Dame Maggie Smith a Happy Birthday

The cast of the British drama series Downton Abbey got together in order to wish a very Happy Birthday to Dame Maggie Smith.

With all the rushing about and getting ready for the holidays and with the New Year straight after. We overlooked the birthday of the wonderful Dame Maggie Smith, a.k.a the famous Harry Potter Transfiguration teacher, Professor McGonagall. Thankfully, the cast of Downton Abbey did not forget.

Dame Maggie Smith played the Dowager Countess in the hit British Drama. The series, which saw her play the muggle version of Professor McGonagall throughout its entire time on air. From 2010 – 2015.

Amongst the Downton Abbey cast sending their best wishes is another Harry Potter star. Imelda Staunton, who you will remember as the terrible Professor Dolores Umbridge, is to star in the movie.

What exactly her role will be has not yet been revealed. But it is expected she will have scenes with Dame Maggie Smith. Whether it will be as a friend, or foe, is also not yet known. But in some way, we will be getting the McGonagall Umbridge showdown once again.
