Will Supernatural take inspiration from Harry Potter for the archangel storyline?

Supernatural is currently dealing with an archangel threat that’s the size of Lord Voldemort. Will the writers take more inspiration from Lord Voldemort’s storyline in Harry Potter?

Harry Potter has become so popular that other shows and movies are taking inspiration. You’ve only got to look at how the new Charmed series is teleporting whitelighters and the way Marvel made people disappear after the Thanos snap in Infinity War. Now it looks like Supernatural is taking some inspiration.

Right now, the Winchester brothers are up against a villain that is very much like Lord Voldemort. The archangel Michael only wants those who are “pure” to walk the Earth and he will kill anyone who is against him or he deems unworthy. Sound familiar?

That’s not the only inspiration, though. Could it be possible that the writers are going to include some Horcruxes for the archangel? If you watch Supernatural and aren’t caught up, this is going to get extremely spoilery and I’m sorry!

Michael is creating a set of supermonsters (anyone else start singing the theme song for the Super Monsters on Netflix? Those with kids will know what I mean!) and is using his archangel grace to do so. He takes a little of his archangel grace at a time, puts it in a potion, and then gives it to the various creatures and monsters so they become Leveled Up versions of themselves.

For those who don’t know Supernatural, the grace is like the soul. It’s what makes angels and archangels what they are. While Michael won’t die without it, he wouldn’t have his powers or be an archangel anymore. But his grace does replenish over time, so he doesn’t have to worry too much about giving some of it up.

If he loses all his grace, could he not just get what grace he used back from some of his supermonsters? In a way, his monsters become Horcruxes, giving him extra lives as if he’s in a Nintendo game.

That’s not all! The writers have already taken some inspiration from Harry Potter when it comes to the monsters that have Michael’s archangel grace running through them. Michael is connected to each and every one of them in a similar way that Voldemort was connected to each of his Horcruxes. Michael can control his monsters and sense where they are, which connects to the way Harry and Voldemort were connected because Harry became an unintended Horcrux.
