Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Princess Theatre’s magical makeover

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is on its way to Melbourne to take the stage at the Princess Theatre which has been undergoing a magical makeover.
Making its way around the world. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set to debut in Australia at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne in 2019. The theatre has been undergoing some reservations recently, reservations that can only be described as a magical makeover.
Let’s take a look inside at the soon to be home of The Boy Who Lived 19 years on.

Following a $6.5 million-dollar restoration project. Scaffolding has surrounded the theatre as it has undergone the reservation. That has now all been taking down, to reveal that the theatre has been restored to its former 1886 glory. With some Wizarding World additions thrown into the mix.

For example, representing the houses of Hogwarts, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, are some new additions to the theatre. Which sit next to the freshly gilded statues of the Princess Theatres.
Construction of the stage where the performances are to take place is still to be completed. It is expected the current work being carried out on the stage will be completed soon. With previews for the first performances of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to begin in the middle of Jan.
