Avengers: Endgame is here, and we are all collectively going through it together. Here are the saddest moments from that emotional trailer.

IT’S HERE! The trailer is here, and the internet is losing it. The Avengers 4 trailer arrived Friday morning, and we have a title, too. Avengers 4 will officially be called Avengers: Endgame, and it looks like things are bleaker for our heroes than we could have imagined.

What this trailer would look like was the cause of a lot of speculation. For me at least, this trailer was even better than I expected, and I love the direction they are going with it. Instead of focusing on revealing a lot of details, which we likely knew they wouldn’t want to do, Marvel focused on the aftermath of Thanos’ snap and how it has devastated our remaining characters. We are in for a lot of angst, Marvel fans! This trailer was really sad and included a lot of tears — our tears as well as the tears of some of our heroes.

We will all be rewatching this trailer over and over in the coming days, but in the direct aftermath, let’s all bask in the feels and relive some of the saddest moments from the trailer together. Watch or rewatch the trailer if you’re up for it, and read on below to see if you agree with us on the most heart-breaking moments.

Tony Stark drifting alone through space

Wow, the trailer really started us off with a punch to the gut. We see Tony Stark drifting through space alone. (Where’s Nebula?!) He is sending a message to Pepper Potts, and he reveals he’s run out of food and water and will soon run out of oxygen. We are sure that he will get saved, but, jeez, it’s rough to see Iron Man like that. He’s so broken down and lost, and hearing him record that message was heartbreaking.

Steve Rogers crying

Captain America is really sad in this trailer. He’s clearly grief-stricken over losing so many people close to him such as Bucky and Falcon. It was heart-wrenching to see him crying. All of the times he was shown throughout the trailer he looked desperate and hurt, and it’s making us worried about his fate. We see a brief shot of him looking at the locket with Peggy’s picture, which as many have pointed out, was what he did before he sacrificed himself in The First Avenger.

Black Widow and Bruce Banner looking lost

Natasha Romanoff is trained to keep her emotions in check, but when we see her in this trailer, she doesn’t look so put together. She is clearly blindsided by what happens, and we also see Bruce looking at pictures of some of some of our remaining heroes. We didn’t get to see too much of these two characters, but it’s clear they are going through it.

Thor and Nebula looking sad

While we don’t see these two characters for long, the moments we do see them they both look dejected and sad. While Steve Rogers does a voiceover about what they’ve lost, Thor sits with a blanket over his shoulders. We also see Nebula standing in the shadows. This trailer focuses a lot on Steve and Tony, but the moments we see of some of the other heroes also show how traumatized they are.

“’Cause I don’t know what I’m gonna do if it doesn’t.”

Near the end of the trailer, we get another really rough Steve Rogers moment. (Fans of Captain America this morning are having so many emotions. We’re really freaking out over here.) Black Widow tells him that a plan is going to work. To which he replies, “I know it is, ’cause I don’t know what I’m going to do if it doesn’t.” We’ve never seen Steve Rogers like this, despite all he’s been through. This was a lot to deal with.
