Chris Columbus, the man who directed the first two Harry Potter movies, is teaming with streaming giants Netflix in a multiyear first-look deal.
Director of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Chris Columbus, has signed a multi-year first-look deal with Netflix. Under this deal, it will see Netflix get the first chance at any of the movies that Columbus and his partners at 1492 Pictures want to produce.
This is one of the latest deals that Netflix has made in an effort to see their original content improve. Those who have already secured deals by the streaming giants include, Producer Ian Bryce, known for Saving Private Ryan and producer of Spotlight Michael Sugar. They have also secured a deal with Paramount as well.

His directorial debut came with Adventures In Babysitting, and from then he went on to span a number of other big movies such as Home Alone, Bicentennial Man, and Mrs. Doubtfire.
What he, along with his partners at 1492 pictures, will bring to Netflix remains to be seen. It wouldn’t be surprising if we were to see new titles being announced very shortly, however.
While Columbus is working with the streaming giant. I wonder if he can convince Netflix to pick up the Wizarding World franchise.
