The Avengers: Endgame trailer has us worried about Captain America
Captain America is crying in the Avengers: Endgame trailer, and fans are worried about the fate of everyone’s favorite star-spangled man.
The Avengers 4 trailer is here with a title, too. While we all try and process that really emotional trailer, we are all hard at work coming up with our best theories and ideas for what will happen in Avengers: Endgame. Some fan theories already seem to have been confirmed such as Hawkeye is living as Ronin.
People are also concerned about Shuri after the trailer since she is shown as a missing person. But, in a lot of ways, this trailer didn’t reveal too much. It mostly focused on the main six Avengers and the aftermath of the events of Infinity War. It was a very character-focused, emotion-based trailer, and we are definitely here for it.
The majority of the trailer was focused on Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, and this isn’t that surprising as they have been the center of the MCU for the past few years. There has also been a lot of speculation about what the fate of these two characters will be in Endgame. Many expect one or both of them to die in the end.
And, this trailer has Captain America fans especially worried. (I am one of those fans, and I am both worried and excited). It was great to see that he will be a focus of the film, and it was also rewarding to see that they will focus on his emotions and how Thanos’ snap impacted him. He did lose a lot of people he was really close to. Losing Bucky is likely to have hit him rather hard as he has lost his best friend multiple times and had just worked so hard to ensure he was safe.
He also lost Sam Wilson, another best friend, and T’Challa who he had grown to rely on. But, on top of all that, he likely feels guilty for what happened and the weight of all the other people who were lost. While I’m glad they are focusing on his character, I’m also worried about his fate, as are many other fans.
People are also just really emotional at seeing their favorite character in so much pain, as you can see by just a few of the tweets reacting to Steve Rogers crying and other emotional Captain America moments in the trailer.
Fans are also sad that Steve lost his beard, but agree that he is still looking pretty damn good with his clean-shaven look. They are loving that he’s wearing the hold Stealth Suit again, too!
Many people have pointed out that the last time we saw Steve Rogers look at the locket with Peggy’s picture was when he was about to sacrifice himself to save everyone at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger. People are speculating that this could happen again in Avengers: Endgame. Another possibility is that time travel will be involved, and he will go back in time and interact with Peggy at some point.
Also, many fans have assumed that Chris Evans is done playing Cap as all signs have pointed to his contract being fulfilled. But, maybe this isn’t the case.
According to USA Today, Joe Russo hinted that Evans might be around in the future.
“I think it was more emotional for him than it was us because he’s not done yet. I won’t explain what that means but fans will soon understand what I’m talking about.”
Maybe Captain America will be ok? We feel like the Russos might have something tricky in store for all of us Cap fans, and we are stressed about it. We will all just have to band together to get through this trying time as we wait for the movie!
