Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: 3 questions after the part 2 teaser

With a “cherry bomb” of a short teaser, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has us all wondering what the second installment has in store.

After Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘s holiday special (out on Dec. 14), there won’t be much of a wait to see more of the series. Instead of waiting a full year for that second part, though, we’ll get to return to Greendale with Sabrina Spellman, Aunts Hilda and Zelda, Salem, and everyone else in town next spring.

The teaser comes not only with a release date of April 5, 2019, though. Naturally, it also has a fairly short, mostly dialogue-free preview, Sure, Sabrina gets to comment on how it’s a “new year” (how fitting considering the calendar change), but otherwise, it’s mostly just Joan Jett and the Runaways’ version of “Cherry Bomb.”

Now that you’re humming along, let’s get to some questions.

What sort of hunt is Ambrose calling everyone to?

Nicely timed to the mention of a “fox” in the song is a shot of Ambrose blowing a horn. While it doesn’t look like a traditional hunting horn (and why would it, because this is probably a witch ritual), it does sound like one.

Does this hunt have any connection to the beast that Sabrina later encounters in the same teaser? Perhaps in her new role as a full-member of the Church of Night, Sabrina has to go hunting … or maybe just survive the night. It’s also possible that this is meant for everyone in the Church and not just Sabrina. There certainly seem to be plenty of rituals, after all. Why wouldn’t this be another one?

What brings Sabrina back to Baxter High?

Of course, we all knew that there was no way that Chilling Adventures would abandon its human cast. Spot Aunt Hilda getting a little bit dressed up for a night out, for instance. But pointedly, we see Harvey and Roz sharing what looks like a moment, and the trailer leads us to believe that Sabrina witnesses this.

It’s possible she’s paying a visit to Ms. Wardwell, but why go to school and not the teacher’s home? We’ve thought that since Sabrina has become a witch and broken up with Harvey, for example, she’d drop out of Baxter High. That just not might be the case, though. Keep an eye on this.

Where’s the baby?

At the end of the first season, Zelda takes Lady Blackwood’s first baby, a girl, leaving only a boy with Father Blackwood. Neither of the little ones appear in the teaser, but we have to guess that they’ll play an important role in the episodes to come. It’s simply strange that we don’t see Zelda perhaps keeping the baby in a bassinet or something next to her during that first morning scene. Perhaps Zelda’s found a better place for the baby to stay.

Then again, this teaser is less than a minute long, and it’s no surprise that not everyone shows up. Susie doesn’t appear either, for instance.
