Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery isn’t a stranger to plot holes and canon questions. However, the latest update will make you question the location of the Leaky Cauldron.
The books are quite clear where the Leaky Cauldron is located in Harry Potter. If it wasn’t too clear or you didn’t read the books, the movies made a good job of recreating the location. In another plothole, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will make you question the location.
For decades, we’ve known that the Leaky Cauldron is on the wall that takes you between the muggle and magical world. It’s a pub that is on the muggle side of the wall. In the first-ever book, Harry and Hagrid walk into the Leaky Cauldron to go through the back and to the wall to the magical world.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery puts the pub on the inside of the wall, on the magical side. It’s an inconsistency that is sure to annoy the diehard Potterheads.
However, it’s worth noting that the game is not the first place to have this inconsistency. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida has the exact same issue. It could be said that the pub is placed there to indicate that muggles can’t see the pub, but it’s certainly annoyed many fans that the set couldn’t be created in the way it is in the books and movies.

In the game, there can be some leeway given. To put the pub on the muggle side, more development would have been needed. This opens to more chances of bugs and the game crashing. Putting it on the magical side of the wall just makes things much easier to create and play.
Plus, this is nothing like some of the others plotholes throughout the game. Remember the missing-Ben-still-in-the-classroom plothole?
