Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep is Meryl Streep, and she can go anywhere she wants and nobody can stop her. The 21-time Oscar nominee (and three-time winner) would probably get another Academy Award just for her appearance at your Thanksgiving dinner table.

The Hollywood icon may be one of the greatest actresses of our time, but that doesn’t mean she can’t have some fun, too. Her co-stars have never had anything bad to say about her, because what could you ever have against THE Meryl Streep? She seems like she’d be a really nice woman, and never lets the fame and praise go to her head. And as Ellen pointed out on her show, she can make anything sound interesting.

Meryl also played TV chef extraordinaire Julia Child in Julie & Julia, which, shocker, earned her an Oscar nomination! The role probably didn’t give Meryl any real cooking skills, but in our imagination, she’s as good a chef as she is an actress. She would insist on slaving away in the kitchen putting the final touches on some delicious feast (probably filled with butter), and then she would walk out glowing like an angel to present her masterpiece on the table as everyone applauds and throws bouquets of flowers at her.

That’s dramatic, but I think we all agree Meryl Streep would be an amazing dinner guest, holiday season or not. It would never happen for most of us, unless you’re Emily Blunt or Anne Hathaway or someone equally as fabulous,. But we can all dream!
