Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
Your Royal Highness, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex! Who wouldn’t want a pair of royals at their dinner? Sure, that would mean increased security and probably a lot more prep so that you can adhere to their strict guidelines — apparently the royals don’t eat much pasta, potatoes, or rice, or even garlic, so there goes the whole menu — but Meghan and Harry are hip, young royals, so surely they won’t mind if you slip up.
Even before becoming a royal, Meghan Markle would’ve been a great dinner guest. The former Suits star was more than an actress, she was also an avid philanthropist, and could no doubt inspire everyone at the table to want to be better people. She is a global ambassador for World Vision, which has brought her to places like India and Rwanda, and she is also an advocate for the United Nations. That’s an impressive resume, far more impressive than “princess,” but that’s always a plus.
Harry has also lived an extraordinary life. The prince has charitable causes of his own, notably the charity that he founded in 2006, Sentebale, which supports the mental health and well-being of children and young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana. He was also in the British Army for 10 years, which inspired him to launch the Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style sports competition for injured servicemen and women.
Meghan and Harry are both pretty spectacular people, but even with their impressive philanthropic backgrounds they still seem like down-to-Earth, nice people. They’re a young, newlywed couple and Meghan is expecting a child, and who doesn’t love cooing over a pregnant woman during the holidays? “Do you have any names picked out? Boy or girl?” They wouldn’t spill those secrets in case it leaked to the press, but you could try!
