Critics say one thing, fans say another. Here is a look at every Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movie and how the critics and fans compare to one another.

It’s becoming a growing trend right now. Critics will say one thing and give their overall score of a movie, and then, when it comes to the viewers giving their views and opinions, it’s the complete opposite.

It happened with the Netflix Original Bright. Critics slammed it, and viewers loved. Stars Wars: The Last Jedi suffered from it as well, although theirs was the opposite. Critics loved it and fans hated it.

And that is what the most interesting thing is about this bizarre phenomenon. It’s not as though fans are trying to make a badly reviewed movie appear any better or anything. Movies that are being rated well by critics are being rated poorly by fans. It just seems to be whatever critics will say the fans will think the opposite. Raising the question over what the point of critics is nowadays?

Are they similar? Are the vastly different? If they are different by how much? Have we got any Bright differences or The Last Jedi amongst our Wizarding World ranks? Let’s take a look.

We will begin where it all began for the Wizarding World movies, Harry Potter. A grand total of eight movies were made and each one of them faired differently from one another. Here’s a break down of all of the Harry Potter movies, how the scored when it came to the critics and how the scored when the viewers shared their thoughts.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

It’s not a bad spread of results when it comes to the Harry Potter movies. Both the critics and viewers have very similar views. All but one of the Harry Potter movies has a large difference of opinion between them.

So what about the Fantastic Beasts movies? Let’s take a look at that next.

Fantastic Beasts movies critics vs. fans

Obviously, there aren’t many Fantastic Beasts movies to take a look at here. But the list will grow over time and when it does we will come back and revisit this post. But for now, we only have Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

So how did they compare when it comes to the critics and the fans?

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Critics Score: 74%

Viewer Score: 79%

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Critics Score: 40%

Viewer Score: 70%

Now Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has only been out for a few days now. So that audience score can change as time goes on, but the critic score is unlikely to change. If it does, it won’t be by a huge amount. Meaning the greatest difference in opinion when it comes to the critics and the fans are the latest installment of the Wizarding World.

What is really interesting. While there is a huge divide in opinion with the new Wizarding World movie. It is still the lowest scored movie of them all. At the moment anyway, again, the viewer score could change for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. But as things sit right this second, while critics and fans will disagree about how good Crimes of Grindelwald is, they are technically in agreement that it is the worst movie of them all.
