Netflix is paying tribute to Stan Lee by giving you access to its entire Marvel collection with a single word: Lee’s own catchphrase, “Excelsior!”

Netflix is honoring Stan Lee in the most epic way. You can now access the streaming giant’s entire collection of Marvel movies, shows, and cartoons by searching a single word: “Excelsior!”

This word has long been the catchphrase of Stan Lee, writer and creator of the Marvel universe. Lee passed away at age 95 on Monday, setting off a flood of tributes from fans and celebrities around the world, including Netflix’s new “excelsior!” Easter egg.

“Excelsior!” was first used by Lee in the ’60s as the closing word of his monthly Marvel column. It is a Latin term that means “ever upward.”

In an interview archived by io9 from 2007, Lee explained that he actually started using the word to thwart competition seeking to imitate his success. “I used to have a lot of expressions that I would end my comic book columns with: Hang Loose, Face Front, ‘Nuff Said, and I found that the competition was always imitating them and using them. So, I said I’m going to get one expression that they’re not going to know what it means, and they won’t know how to spell it. And that’s where “excelsior” came from, and they never did take up on it, thank goodness.”

Though it may have started as a clever way to outwit competitors, “excelsior” has since become a phrase that carries with it all the optimism, progress, and power of Stan Lee and his Marvel universe.
