The Good Place preview: Let’s see what makes our characters break!
This week’s episode of The Good Place looks to test everyone’s resolve, from Eleanor to Tahani — even to Janet! So will any of them break under the pressure?
The Good Place has always enjoyed torturing its main characters. Season 3 is no exception, even if they aren’t stuck in the afterlife anymore.
Our team keeps breaking off into different teams now that they know the truth — last week it was Michael, Tahani, and Jason while Eleanor, Janet, and Chidi wrapped things up in Australia. How will everyone partner off this week?
Here’s the official synopsis for this week’s episode, courtesy of NBC:
"Eleanor makes a startling discovery that tests her resolve, Tahani looks to make amends and Janet does some bonding."
Okay, let’s think about this logically. Eleanor’s startling discovery is obviously her mom faking her own death and still being alive. Which is very not cool but also very much the Shellstrop family.
Once she finally finds her mom, what sort of shape might she be in? Is she living happily ever after, somehow not crazy with this new life? Does she have other kids? It’s going to be something crazy and oddly normal, knowing The Good Place. We’ll have to wait and see if Eleanor murders her or not.
Tahani looking to make amends? Well, that’s obviously with her family at Kamilah’s new museum exhibit opening in Budapest. Have her parents or Kamilah changed at all over the last year? Tahani did distance herself quite a bit. Maybe they’ve changed.
Or maybe they’ll at least try to listen to her?

And Janet. Oh, lovely Janet, who has to make her own ding noises now that she no longer has a void. She’s made no secret of her feelings toward Jason to… well, everyone but Jason.
She definitely needs to talk to him about her feelings. Or, at the very least, start up a tentative friendship. He is technically married now, so hitting on him might not be a good idea.

We’ll just have to see what the repercussions are when this week’s episode airs.
