NBC’s “A Very Wicked Halloween” aired last night to celebrate the show’s 15-year Broadway anniversary. Here are a few of the highlights from the show.

Wicked is definitely one of the most popular (yes, that’s a pun) and well-known musicals out there. The songs from the show have made their way across the pop culture lexicon, and many fans have been devoted to this musical for years. It’s hard to believe that Wicked has now been running on Broadway for 15 years.

To celebrate this exciting anniversary, NBC hosted a special called A Very Wicked Halloween. During the show, which aired Monday night, Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth reunited on stage. The two, who played the lead roles of Elphaba and Glinda in the original run on Broadway, were also joined with other musical guests such as Ariana Grande and Adam Lambert.

The show featured musical performances as well as trivia and facts about Wicked. While the whole show was very nostalgic for fans of the play, here are some of the best moments.

Adam Lambert and Ledisi singing “As Long As You’re Mine”

The pair sang this iconic duet from the show. The song is sexy and romantic, and these two were able to pull off hitting all the notes and giving off that Broadway vibe. The duo definitely hit this one out of the park.

Current Broadway company performing “One Short Day”

One treat of the evening was seeing the current case of Wicked perform “One Short Day.” This number included all of the customs, choreography, and set dressings of the show as it is performed on Broadway. This was a fun chance for people who haven’t seen the show to get a glimpse of what it’s like.

Ariana Grande performing “The Wizard and I”

During the special, they showed a picture of Ariana as a child meeting Kristin Chenoweth and talked about how Grande has loved Wicked for years. Grande looked lovely and positively witchy and brought her signature voice and pop style to the song. Watching this performance was really enjoyable, and Grande definitely can sing.

Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, and past Glindas and Elphabas performing “For Good”

As the finale for the special, Chenoweth and Menzel started singing their final song together. Chenoweth herself was very emotional during the performance. To top it all off, other performers who had played Glinda and Elphaba over the years were brought on stage to bring the number home.
