Voldemort scheduled to pick up a lifetime achievement award

He Who Must Not Be Named may not have been able to thrawt Harry Potter but he has been recognized, as he’s awarded a lifetime achievement award.

Ralph Fiennes, the man who played Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter, has been deservingly recognized for all of the great work he has done as he is set to receive a lifetime achievement honor, the European Achievement in World Cinema, at the 2018 European Film Awards.

Fiennes, who has also played other major roles in other major franchises. Such as M in both James Bond films, Skyfall and SpectreThe English Patient and The Grand Budapest Hotel are also major films the British actor has been involved in.

While many Potterheads will only know Fiennes as the Dark Lord, who first showed up in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Philosopher’s Stone doesn’t count), Fiennes has a long and established movie career. Breaking out internationally in Schindler’s List in 1993, he played the role of Nazi psychopath Amon Goeth. The role earned him a BAFTA and Oscar nod for best supporting actor.

In 1996, he appeared in The English Patient, which earned him his second Oscar nomination, this time for Best Actor. Fiennes has gone on to direct several movies along with his acting career. He has also starred in some of the movies that he directed. He received his fifth BAFTA nomination for his role in Coriolanus, which was also his directorial debut.
