Crazy Ex-Girlfriend preview: Rebecca has to go back to work
Rebecca has been trying to deal with herself these last few episodes, but now on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Miss Bunch has to return to the workforce.
Every week on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, we ask ourselves how Rebecca Bunch hasn’t lost her job yet. What’s great about this show is that the things we recognize about Rebecca eventually get called out. Sure, we’ve all watched as Rebecca ignored her work or just didn’t show up for weeks and it seemed crazy, but no one was saying anything.
With this episode, it seems as if Nathaniel is finally pointing out that Rebecca Bunch doesn’t like to do work. That being said, she might be trying to find herself in a new career endeavor anyway. For the entirety of the series, Rebecca has been a lawyer and a somewhat good one at that. When she did go to work, she’d help those around her and try and do what was best for the case. (Even if, most times, those cases were helping her get closer to Josh Chan.)
But with everything that has happened to Rebecca in the last year, it seems as if being a lawyer is the last thing on her mind. What will she do though for money? If anything, how has Rebecca paid her rent in the last few months? The last we knew, she was in debt because of all the money she was spending trying to get Josh Chan to fall in love with her.
So the real question would be: what does Rebecca need to do in order to survive in West Covina? The mundane aspects of life seem to disinterest Rebecca, but it would be a change in pace for her to actually face some kind of roadblock in regards to her money. The last time, she sorted out her bankruptcy situation quickly. But now, when she hasn’t really worked for months, it would be great to explore what Rebecca has to do in order to get her life back on track.
