This week’s episode of Supernatural will be an investigation into what happened to Dean. We will also see the return of one familiar face.
After the surprising turn of events last week, which involved the archangel Michael apparently releasing Dean from his possession, all of our characters are focused on discovering why Michael left and what the angel’s plan is, even Dean himself. The preview trailer for the next episode titled “The Scar” confirms that Dean won’t remember anything from his time as Michael’s vessel and Castiel must rummage around in Dean’s memories to shed some insight.
Will the team be able to piece together Michael’s plan? Is Dean even actually Dean or is the archangel Michael still hiding somewhere in his body? Whatever the outcome, the Winchesters are not alone as they recruit the help of Sheriff Jody Mills, a fan-favorite hunter and surrogate mother to orphaned teenagers Alex and Claire. This female family unit starred in an episode last season, which was set to be the pilot of a potential spin-off entitled “Wayward Sisters”.
Unfortunately, the spin-off was not picked up, but the writers of Supernatural won’t be letting go of the characters just yet. It’s hard enough trying to keep characters alive on this show, and as Jody Mills has guest starred since season 5, I think she’s very significant to have survived this long. Jody is sure to help Sam and Dean discover what Michael is up to, alongside the help of Castiel and Jack, but we predict the reunion won’t be all seriousness.
In the preview clip, Jody compares Dean’s experience being possessed by Michael to being “stabbed with a giant meat fork”, to which Dean replies “exactly.” Despite everything that’s at stake, and the riddle the boys will need to solve in order to find Michael and stop him from destroying the world, it seems Jody is still up for some laughs and won’t let everything be doom and gloom.
Supported by whatever Castiel learns from the inside of Dean’s mind, will Jody Mills have information that is going to help the Winchesters track down Michael?
