Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have called off their engagement
Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have decided to split, ending their engagement which was announced just this June.
After a whirlwind romance that resulted in a June engagement, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have now decided to end their relationship.
The two started dating in May, and a relationship that was first described as “casual” quickly moved to a proposal. Fans of the singer and comedian were initially shocked by the coupling, but over the summer the pair have been celebrated for their public affection for each other.
Unfortunately, a source tells People that “it was way too much too soon” and despite this being sad news, “it’s not shocking to anyone.”
TMZ reported the split as well, with sources saying the decision to end the relationship was a mutual choice and perhaps the speediness of things ended up being an issue.
Pete Davidson’s social accounts are no longer active, whereas Grande has at the time of this story not deleted photos or videos of Davidson, a traditional move amongst celebrities post-split.
Grande and Davidson’s relationship has been highly followed by media, with the two having shared plenty of PDA on social media and at events. The two even got tattoos for each other that symbolized their coupling. Davidson had inked Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” symbol behind his ear, but the Saturday Night Live star reportedly covered it up a few days ago. Davidson also had “AG” inked on his right thumb and grande ad “Pete” tattooed on her left ring finger.
The couple also recently adopted a pet teacup pig, which Grande described as an “emotional support animal.” Named Piggy Smalls, the new pet appeared in Grande’s new “breathin” music video.
The end of their engagement comes just a month after Grande suffered the loss of former boyfriend Mac Miller, who died from a reported drug overdose on September 7. The “God is a woman” singer has recently opened up on social media about both her grief and emotional exhaustion over it. Grande recently shared a post on Instagram expressing how hard she was working to release tour dates, a docuseries, music videos and more to her fans.
Both Grande and Davidson’s reps have yet to release statements about their split. We wish both the best as they move forward during this difficult time.
