Matt Murdock’s apartment appears on Craigslist, thanks to clever Daredevil marketing

Daredevil decided to ramp up their marketing for season 3 by putting up Matt Murdock’s apartment for rent on Craigslist.

The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen might need to find a new apartment heading into season 3 of Daredevil. It looks like someone decided to list Matt Murdock’s Hell’s Kitchen apartment for rent on Craigslist, and considering what other things can be found on the site, we are not surprised to find the infamous hero’s apartment up for grabs.

In the listing, the marketing team for Daredevil chose to play with words in order to get their message across, while also including pictures from inside Murdock’s apartment. Clicking on the ad led to a wonderful piece about the fact that any new tenants could, “Marvel at the reclaimed industrial windows that provide a must-see view of Hell’s Kitchen.”

But that’s not all, as the ad also reminded everyone about the neon sign across the way from the apartment, and its accessibility options considering it is “within walking distance of a boxing gym, courthouse and local law offices.” Of course, they also pointed out that the previous tenant seems to have vanished and left his stuff behind by saying he “left without notice.”

And while they make it clear that the apartment will not be available until October 19, which is also the premiere of Daredevil on Netflix, we think potential tenants might want to be careful of possible ninja attacks. Of course, they may also want to consider the fact that when Murdock returns to reclaim his place, he may be less than impressed to find someone having taken over his apartment (and its furniture).

While we think this advertising method is pretty unique, some people weren’t into the idea of a Craigslist ad for Matt Murdock’s apartment. Since the news was first reported, the ad’s been flagged for removal by users who either did not see the humor of the ad, or were perhaps disappointed to learn that the apartment was not actually available for rent.

Or maybe they were suspicious over the fact that a seemingly spacious apartment in the heart of Manhattan was being listed at just $2,000, when most apartments in the area might run you up to $5,000. Considering that even with ninja attacks, a brilliant neon sign lighting up the place, and potential blood stains, this would still be considered prime real estate, we can see why someone might decide to flag the post.

All things considered, maybe the Craigslist ad was removed for a better reason, like the fact that Matt Murdock still needs a place to rest his head. We bet being a lawyer has its perks when your apartment is listed for rent and you still live there.

We guess we will have to wait and see what happens with Murdock and his apartment when Daredevil arrives on Netflix October 19. But in the meantime, hopefully this means the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen will still have his stuff when the time comes to save the city once again.
