We have our first look at Ruby Rose as the Arrowverse’s Batwoman for their annual crossover event. And it’s clear she came to slay in all her red-headed glory.
The CW released their first photo of Ruby Rose donning her Batwoman outfit for the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event, and now all those who doubted her casting can see she came to slay. With her vibrant red hair, an intense look on her face, and the bat signal shining in the sky behind her, Batwoman is clearly a force to be reckoned with.
And the red doesn’t just come to play in her hair either. Batwoman’s suit features a red bat on her chest and the cape even has flecks of red towards the ends, which add depth and dimension to the image. Ruby Rose is Batwoman, a message made very clear with this first look of her in the role.
As Deadline reports, when Rose was cast as Batwoman by The CW, there was heavy backlash on social media. In fact, it led to the actress responding to the haters before disabling her Twitter account. In the message from Ruby Rose at the time, she said, “When women and when minorities join forces we are unstoppable… when we tear each other down it’s much more hurtful than from any group.”
And with the added challenge of having to deal with people being unhappy with her casting, Ruby Rose knew she had to prove the doubters wrong, as she ended her message to everyone with, “If you need me, I’ll be on my Bat Phone.”
We may not see the Bat Phone in this first image, but we are definitely getting an impressive Batwoman. This image might just be a look at the actress in costume, but it makes it clear that Ruby Rose is here to bring Batwoman to life. We can’t wait until it is time to actually see her in action. Whether it is the first stills from the crossover or the teaser for the event, we are definitely excited to see how the Arrowverse welcomes Batwoman into the fold.
