Marvel’s Runaways: 5 surprises we learned about season 2 from NYCC
The end of season one found our heroes on the run from the law and their parents, but season two of Runaways has a lot in store for our favorite teenagers.
A lot went down in Marvel’s Runaway’s season 1, but the Hulu show is really upping the ante for season 2. And thank goodness for the cast and crew who graced the halls of New York Comic Con this weekend, because we know a little bit more about what season 2 might have in store following the shocking cliffhanger that’s got the Runaways in serious trouble.
Allegra Acosta, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Virginia Gardner, Lyrica Okano, and Rhenzy Feliz (who play Molly, Gert, Chase, Karolina, Nico, and Alex, respectively) show up — along with showrunner and producer, Stephanie Savage.
Of course, they didn’t want to reveal too much about season 2. And even though fans are hungry to learn more, we still think it’s good to have a few twists and surprises in the show as we watch. But for those fans who are still itching to learn more, here are just a few of the goodies the cast was able to reveal about next season from the Runaways pannel at NYCC.
Cloak and Dagger crossover?
With new headquarters for both the Runaways and the Pride, season two of Marvel’s Runaways is going to be a lot more about the kids with their powers and figuring out the Pride. There were also hints that we might be getting a Cloak and Dagger crossover in the series.
The crossover would make sense because, in the comics, Cloak and Dagger are brought in to help find the teens when Molly is kidnapped. The problem is that they are not established heroes yet in their own series. That being said, this season would be a perfect time to bring in the duo and bring Marvel’s two entities together. Both shows focus on runaway teens, and it is a fitting combination.
A mole among them
While there is going to be a mole in the group, the teens struggle with the idea of not trusting their parents, and many think of going back home or at least contacting their parents. Not only do the Runaways stay together, but it seems as if we’re also going to get new members to the team this season.
Here comes Topher
Topher is also coming to the Runaways, and this vampire villain is going to be quite the addition to the show as the teens try and take on their parents and the Pride. They still have a lot to learn about their parents and their abilities, and it will be great to see where the show takes them!
Parent problems
The show is set around the kids having problems with their evil parents but, at the end of the day, those are still their parents. So, of course, they want to be with their parents and find a way to reconnect. What we can tell from the trailer and information is just that the kids struggle with the idea of going back to their parents even though they finally ran away from them.
Pride vs. Runaways
With new headquarters and new missions, both the Pride and the Runaways have to prepare for the oncoming war and that means that each side is growing their resources. The Runaways are working on their powers and it is setting the show up for an incredibly poignant second season.
