Norman Reedus reveals season 9 of The Walking Dead will have major deaths
Fans of The Walking Dead should brace themselves for the upcoming season as Norman Reedus reveals there will be a lot of deaths.
In an interview with Norman Reedus about the upcoming season of The Walking Dead, Reedus explained that he thinks this season is going to be one of the best of the series. He’s not the only person involved in the show who thinks so. Many other actors and actresses, such as Danai Gurira, have expressed their sadness about Andrew Lincoln leaving, while still being excited for what is to come.
As far as the new season goes, Reedus is excited about where things are starting off. He talked about the upcoming season in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
He was also asked about the tone of season 9 and explained it would be like a good western. Explaining that this season will be very character focused and that the choices and impact of what happens will weigh heavily on these characters.
"There are some big deaths and some big things happening, and some super big things on the horizon as well, so it feels very much like the best parts of a western to me. I’ve always wanted this show to go in that direction, and it’s definitely headed in that direction right now. And it’s heavy. There’s a very heavy weight in the air while we’re filming. With the announcement of the Whisperers in the future there’s a lot of weight on our shoulders, and you feel it."

Hearing that there will be big deaths is always a stressful thing for the fans of The Walking Dead. Stakes are high, and it doesn’t feel like anyone is necessarily safe as so many staples of the show have been killed off or are going to leave the show in the upcoming season.
Reedus also gave some details about Daryl going into the new season, and what was in store for the character after the time jump.
"He’s dealing with a whole bunch of stuff right now, and I’m loving where my character’s going this year. He’s been given a lot to do this season, and I like the challenge, and I’m up for it. But as far as Daryl, he’s family first always with that guy. And he’ll do anything and everything it takes."
Sound like Daryl fans can get excited to see a lot of interesting storylines for the character.
The ninth season of The Walking Dead will premiere on AMC on October 7.
