She-Ra and the Princesses of Power revealed the show will feature LGBTQ characters during its panel at New York Comic Con.

She-Ra is making a comeback, and during its exciting panel at New York Comic Con, fans were treated to news for the first season, a full season 1 trailer, and groundbreaking news for the animated series.

The panel featured executive producer Noelle Stevenson along with voices for several of the show’s characters including Aimee Carrero (voice of Adora/She-Ra), Karen Fukuhara (voice of Glimmer), and Marcus Scribner (voice of Bow).

We learned the relationship between Adora and Catra is going to be a focal point of the season. Once best friends, the two are split apart when Adora realizes that the life they lead has been a lie and she goes to help the princess rebellion.

However,  the biggest reveal during the panel though was by accident. Aimee Carrero sort of let it slip that Bow has two dads. The news was driven home by the fact that Noelle Stevenson, the creator and Tumblr icon that has become a fixture in nerd culture, put her head in her hands and laughed. Aimee, in her defense, shrugged with an “oops” as the audience continued to cheer.

Safe to say fans both at the panel and those learning the news on social media were pleased.

The audience was also treated to the first full trailer for season 1, which you can view below. The official synopsis for the show states that:

"Adora’s destiny turns out to be far greater than she could have ever imagined. As the legendary warrior princess, She-Ra, it’s up to her and a spirited group of rebel princesses to restore balance in Etheria by defending it from the place she once called home. Join The Rebellion November 16th when She-Ra and the Princesses of Power begins streaming on Netflix!"

She-Ra and its panel of amazing women (and Marcus Scribner) gave us the hope that the next generation of women can experience the magic and power that She-Ra first offered us in the ’80s.
