Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are famous for their humor, and when The Voice nabbed John as the new coach, Chrissy had the best response ever.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend rank high on our list of favorite couples, from their hilarious social media exchanges to their impressive diverse talents. So when the TV singing competition The Voice chose John as its newest coach, we hoped that Chrissy would share her sure-to-be funny response online. Teigen did not disappoint.

John Legend becomes new coach for The Voice

Each season, fans of The Voice await eagerly to see which coaches will return to those over-sized swirling chairs and which celebrities will swap places with a new star. To announce his new gig, Legend turned to Instagram to share his excitement.

As John pointed out in his Instagram caption, he has served as a guest and mentor on The Voice before. But being a coach takes Legend’s role on the singing competition to a new level. Coaches choose a team, mentor that team, and (oh, heartbreak!) must decide who stays and who goes.

“I’ve been a guest and mentor on the show multiple times and I’m so excited to discover talented singers and help them make the most of their gift,” wrote John. “I hope the world is ready for #TeamJL.”

Oh, Chrissy, have you no respect for your husband now that he’s an EGOT winner? Apparently not. Cosmopolitan pointed out that even though John just earned EGOT honors (i.e., he’s now won every major entertainment award: Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony), Teigen didn’t hesitate to troll Legend when he announced his new position as coach for The Voice.

Adding to the proof that Chrissy has no fear in teasing her husband, she chose their anniversary to troll him. Teigen decided to use her Instagram story for the LOL:

"12 years ago today, I met the man of my dreams. And 5 years ago today, we got married. We have two babies and some pups and a life I am grateful to have. My everything, I love you and am so proud of the story we’ve created…But you are an a*shole for releasing your @nbcthevoice news on my Target launch day for real."

But wait, there’s more to Chrissy’s fondness for teasing John. When The Voice post a photo announcing that Legend was the newest coach, Teigen used the opportunity to comment on the announcement.
