Rumors abound about Avengers 4 adding in more Wakanda scenes

A tweet about reshoots in Atlanta stirs up rumors that Avengers 4 will include more of Wakanda than previously thought.

When Black Panther was released, much of the filming for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 had already been finished. But it is clear that Marvel did not anticipate how much of a smashing hit Black Panther would be.

With the major success of the movie, fans are speculating about how much of a role characters from Wakanda will play in Avengers 4. In Infinity War, the final battle is held in Wakanda, and audiences responded very favorably to these scenes, too. Now, Marvel is also starting a serious campaign for Black Panther to be nominated for a Best Picture at the Oscars.

With all of this success and with a future Black Panther sequel sure to be coming, many are speculating about if Marvel will take the opportunity to add more of Wakanda and these characters in Avengers 4.

A tweet from @AtlantaFilming, which is run by a reporter who tracks movie and TV shoots in the Atlanta region, has added some credibility to these rumors. In his tweet, he talks about how the locations and casting in the reshoots for Avengers 4 make it seem like there will be more of these characters than had originally been planned for. The tweet appears to have been deleted which makes this honestly seem even more likely.

According to AJC.com, the now-deleted tweet said, “Based on the locations and the casting it looks like #Avengers4 will have a whole lot more #BlackPanther in it than #AvengersInfinityWar. So that’s less a reshoot and more an addition of goodness.”

As re-shoots are still underway, it is interesting to wonder how the final movie will turn out. These reshoots give the Russos the chance to adjust the film based on audience response as well as the future of the MCU.

The recent news about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 production being on hold also adds to the speculation. Since that movie is on hold indefinitely, it makes sense that Marvel might want to plan ahead. Those plans will definitely include Black Panther 2, so focusing on those characters instead could be their game plan. The Guardians were heavily featured in Infinity War, but with their movie not currently on the table, plans might have shifted.
