New York Fashion Week ranks among the top most anticipated annual events for fashionistas, and we’ve got your stylish FAQ for NYFW 2018 right here!

New York Fashion Week brings glitz, glamour, and glory each year to the fashion world and eager watchers worldwide. Are you ready for the joys of NYFW 2018? We are, and we’re ready to unveil (stylishly, of course) everything you need to know to be au courant this year.

When does New York Fashion Week begin and end?

For 2018, the NYFW schedule runs September 5 through 12. There are some familiar names (Vivienne Westwood, Jason Wu, Christian Siriano) as well as some newcomers. On September 10, the CAAFD (Council of Aspiring American Fashion Designers) is holding an Emerging Designer Showcase, where we’re keen to see future rulers of the fashion world.

We suggest you plan a hearty breakfast with plenty of caffeine for the morning of September 12, which marks the last day of New York Fashion Week. Highlights of that day include Michael Kors at 10 a.m. ET and Marc Jacobs at 6 p.m. ET.

What’s special about NYFW in 2018?

If you’re wondering whether this is the year to skip New York Fashion Week, here’s a tidbit to tempt you to attend: Vogue promises that “the schedule is looking more exciting than it has in seasons.”

For example, those who have stuffed energy bars into their purses in previous years can leave the snacks at home. Designers are playing the role of host this year, with lunches, breakfast shows, and even a black-tie sunset dinner on the schedule this year. The latter results from Ralph Lauren’s (wait for it) 50th year as fashion king, and his anniversary celebration will be held in Central Park.

If you love watching shows like American Idol and America’s Got Talent because you cherish being one of the first to see a future superstar debut, then New York Fashion Week 2018 is for you.

Chris Peters is scheduled to unveil his very first collection on September 5 for his label CDLM. Also taking her label, called Cushnie, out for its first runway show is Carly Cushnie. Look for her denim, cocktail separates, and cut-out frocks on the runway September 7.

Remembering Kate Spade

Amid the bubbly champagne-feeling of New York Fashion Week, we’re remembering that it’s only been three months since Kate Spade’s heartbreaking suicide. Frances Valentine, which is the line of accessories that Spade co-created two years ago, has been remembering Kate on Instagram. Tributes to Spade during fashion week are anticipated, and the brand itself will be holding its first runway show this year.
